Award winning coverage

Jo-Thompson receives-SGD-Award

We’ve had a run of promotional work based around awards recently. From encouraging the public to nominate businesses for the Cumbria Life Food & Drink Awards to completing application forms for the Visit Britain Best Guest Accommodation awards, and, announcing a Society of Garden Designers Future Designer award win for Jo Thompson.
The fact is, awards are a great way to publicise your business.

They’re an excuse to promote yourselves at key points in the process – asking for nominations, short list announcements, wish us luck for tonight posts, and the big announcement when you win. And they often come with a great PR package from the organisers.

The SGD awards included:

Coverage of the winning gardens in the Telegraph

A feature in the March issue of Homes & Gardens

A feature in the Garden Design Journal

A piece in the Guardian

An extended article in Pro Landscaper

A widely circulated press release

Coverage on the SGD’s awards website

Social media posting by the organisers

Top tip: If you’re thinking of applying for an award it is worth investing in an hour or two of professional polish to give you the best chance of a win – and to extend your promotional activity as far as possible.
