Charity PR: Blind Veterans UK

Since 2009 we have provided PR support for designers and their show gardens at RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Palace Flower Shows. It’s been a delight to be involved with 11 amazing gardens which help raise the profile of often unknown and highly talented designers as well as their sponsors – usually lesser known charities or bigger ones – with a compelling message to broadcast. We have also been lucky enough to be the PR provider for two consecutive Gardening World Cup events in Japan (2010, 2011) held near Nagasaki and with a strong peace theme.

This year we are delighted to be working with Blind Veterans UK who have a large community garden at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 4 – 9 July 2017. It’s being designed by the fabulously talented Andrew Fisher Tomlin & Dan Bowyer – it was great to be involved with them last year on their garden for Bowel Disease UK at Hampton Court. It is also good to be getting to know a great charity that supports anyone who has served in the UK Armed Forces, or who has done National Service, and who is now living with significant sight loss. Blind Veterans UK have set an ambitious target to double the number of veterans they help in the next five years. This garden represents the community of blind veterans they hope to grow.

We consider ourselves fortunate to work in this rather niche field of PR a perk of which is that we are improving our own, but limited, gardening skills. We’re also thrilled to be known for our work in the field of charity PR, particularly with smaller charities such as Blind Veterans UK and Bowel Disease UK.
